Thanks for the clarification @tea-author I’ll pay attention to the copper color next time!
@jackie, yes, it would have been better if the British kept using more colors to keep the tea-naming process uniform. […]

@jackie: That’s why I started with “in principle”. There are more tealovers out there with programming skill. Furthermore if I talk about price I’m not only talking about money, but also about time and effort. […]

@jackie Our tea MBA courses for the most part are held at Fuzhou University’s School of Management – but we do sometimes have classes off-site (at extra cost) visiting various industries (not all tea-related) while learning very valuable management tools. I’ve found the course to be particularly useful, since I learned so much about Chinese…[Read more]

@jackie, yeah, I know it was oolong from Fujian province, but which type of oolong? There are Southern Fujian oolongs and Northern Fujian oolongs. The Southern Fujian oolongs are today distinguished by their light roast, hence green color. Most notable of these is Tieguanyin and other Anxi teas such as Huangjingui, Benshan, Maoxie, etc.; and…[Read more]

@jackie I don’t really know since I had one precise target before having to catch my night train to HH.
I went to the original Theodor teashop in the 16th arrondissement not “far” from the Eiffel Tower.
It is small but has a nice feeling with “old” mosaics on the top.
Before Theodor started there, it was a grocery and I have heard that it is a…[Read more]-
Hmmm, one of the tea-shops I missed last year. Sounds good.

It is but I only knew it because Guillaume Leleu told me about it and the blog La Théière Nomade spoke a bit about it.
But I think it is in the new book about tea in French.By the way @bram next time you go to Paris, PM me before.
If I am available, I might come (I am only 1h30 away from Paris by TGV).-
I’ll remember that. But I’m not much in Paris. Was there for 2 weeks last year and that was the first time in more than ten years. But I have a feeling that I want to go back to visit all those closed tea shops (it was August)…

What tea did you buy for yourself @xavier? Your visit sounded really nice. And now HH. Big change. J’avoue que je préfère Paris.

I won’t comment on that one.
For myself? Saïgon but mostly because the tea cans were the old ones and were really nice (simple and adventurous).

I agree with @jackie, better to have a tea bag than no tea at all.I live in Colombia were coffee is the national product. Almost nobody has heard about loose-leaf tea here, and my friends think that I’m just weird : )

The other day @jackie asked some questions of @teacraft in the forums in the thread about @filoli-farms new tea plantation project. Nigel was unable to answer the questions because of client privilege, which is perfectly understandable. He did, however, offer a great suggestion about having some sort of dedicated area for technical tea industry…[Read more]
