I’m not a big fan of black tea, and I absolutely hate flavored matcha!

My guess is that Starbucks is doing what Coca Cola has done before, buy up companies that sell products that indirectly compete with them.I think that tea will become even more popular from now on : )

@xavier I think for the most part it’s exported to the US, though. I’ve tried yerba mate but I’m not a big fan of it.Here in Colombia there’s some tea plantations too, but the tea ends up as bottled and flavored […]

I agree with @jackie, better to have a tea bag than no tea at all.I live in Colombia were coffee is the national product. Almost nobody has heard about loose-leaf tea here, and my friends think that I’m just weird : )

Nice post. I’m intrigued about the Japanese pu-erh, too bad I can’t buy it from my country.
By the way, the tea sex saga was great. All I can say is that it happens. -

I’m glad @lazyliteratus didn’t burn his kitchen down.I sometimes roast my own Houjicha, it’s very easy to do at home. Just put your bancha (or any other loose-leaf green tea) on a pan and roast until it gets […]

Oh, and about tenkaichi, from what I’ve seen it’s just a sencha blend. Not really a specific type of Japanese tea.I saw online that the company Kaburagien sells it, but I haven’t tried it yet.

@mbanu I’ll give you my two cents with the Japanese teas:Kamairicha is by definition made through panfrying (as opposed to steaming), and it further divides into two types of tea.Nikkan, or hiboshi (meaning sun […]

Thanks for the link, @peter. I hope that we all get access to the list of unethical tea plantations. It’s very sad that there’s still modern slavery in today’s world.

@seule771 I’m sorry to hear that. I think you’re probably depressed, it’s happened to me too. I wish you the best and that fortune may smile upon you in the near future.

@peter thanks for mentioning my review. Yes, you’ll find that the Chicago Tea Company is practically left out of the book.
I think that the book is intended for people with less technical experience, you are obviously more knowledgeable than many of us in terms of e commerce, SEO and the like.
Still the book offers some good insights. -

@bram I’m not sure how Amazon calculates the pages, maybe it has a standard based on word count? In my laptop I counted 32 pages for the book, but it changes depending on how big you make the font in Amazon’s cloud reader.
