Oh! I’m sure @thedevotea will have something to say about this too!

@thedevotea do you have a hat?

Blimey. What kind of book are you writing @thedevotea? Retro transvestites being caned? For tea bagging?’

    Interesting.
She seems to have targeted a fresh food supermarket brand but I don’t know if it is a big or a small one.
    Perhaps @theDevotea could tell us?

It seems no one managed to launch a pyramid bagged tea filled with loose leaves or rather that they weren’t successful but this brand seems to have managed to find a room.
    I wonder why? Any idea?

    • We do see pyramid bags here in the states in grocery stores. The upper end of the tea bag industry uses them. Even Lipton has a line of them that they are marketing as a more “luxury” tea. Not sure how much they have caught on, though the trend with these types of teabags is that because they have a silky appearance because of the materials they…[Read more]

      • I have seen them here too, which is why I was a bit surprised when I read this interview (even if I do believe that Madam Flavour’s bags are of higher quality than those of Lipton).

Here’s a link to an interview with the owner of an Australian tea brand marketed toward women. Interesting. Never head of Madame Flavour but maybe @thedevotea has encountered this somewhere.

    • I looked at their website and it has a funny theme in it.

      Where are their products available?
“They are available in Coles, Woolworths and Safeway, Thomas Dux, selected Ritchies, Romeo’s, Chapley’s and Independent supermarkets in Australia.”

      http://www.madameflavour.com

      • Coles, Woolworths and Safeway have a duopoly here is Australia. Massive market penetration. I’ve seen the bags a million times – never bought them. I never picked the branding as “women” I always saw it as 1960s, sort of a retro transvestite look.
        You live and learn.

        • Live and learn about retro transvestites? I bet that’s an interesting story….

    • These are the teabags that she uses. I’ve read about them before. They revolutionary in terms of being tea bags, but they are, after all, just tea bags….

As long as @thedevotea isn’t looking I’ll post this little vid of Lipton’s latest PR exercise in the Baltics. To demonstrate the concept of “more space in a pyramid tea bag” Lipton set up these pyramides at various malls. Inside: trampolines for people to bounce away freely in. Clever I think. Though even better would be to contrast those stuck in…[Read more]

    • Where to start? Firstly with the concept of a construction with no thought of safety? I guess they have excess population there or something.

Secondly, the STINKING SO CALLED ‘PYRAMID’ tetrahedron is held rigid, unlike the way the PLASTIC they make these bags out of – YES PLASTIC FOR ALL THEY USE CUNNING WORDS LIKE ‘SILKEN’ OR ‘SILKY’ TO IMPLY…[Read more]

True but still I wouldn’t want them to be hurt.

  • @Thedevotea – Totally worth your valuable man-tea time, good sir.

@xavier – I’ll only stop posting ’em if you stop reading ’em, Xavier. *heh*

Can’t stay right now but wanted you to know that I enjoyed catching up with both @yaya ‘s latest blog post and @thedevotea ‘s. Also, welcome to @teaheaven, a new member. I’ll be back later, so get in touch if there’s anything you need.
    J.

  • First off, I would like to say “Thank you” to @thedevotea for the kind words. I would say you and @lahikmajoe are the truer gems. I’m still working through rock quartz level with the medium. Second…and this is where I’ll get on my soapbox for a second… I became a tea reviewer in 2008 when I submitted […]

I love it when we all get chatting. Especially spurned on by a good blog post. Thanks @jopj @thedevotea and @lahikmajoe for making my morning fun.

Sipping @vivek.lochan‘s Goomtee again. I just love it. I’d say ”buy buy buy” from Lochan, but then you’d think I get a kickback. I don’t. I just fully believe in the company, as does @thedevotea – see his blog post where he talked about them:

    A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.

Well, what would you choose? However, isn’t this almost the same as @thedevotea‘s forum post, he started with the seven teas question…:Phttp://teatra.de/talk/topic/seven-teas/

Hello everyone! A large cup of tea, and some of that cake/bread I baked yesterday for @thedevotea‘s tea party. Now I’m glad you made us bake it 😉

  • Jackie posted an update 13 years, 4 months ago

Tonight’s the night, or rather early evening for us here to get together with @thedevotea online for a “face off” – Hopefully it’ll all work out. I know @iheartteas is looking through her wardrobe right now, since our host stated there’re certain guidelines about clothing. Well, maybe that’s not quite what he said. Either way, grab a cake (pretend…[Read more]

@latteteadah‘s blog is our newest addition to the Tea Trade blogs, and she’s off to a great start. Well worth a read!
Also, if you haven’t caught up with @thedevotea‘s latest “Family Feud and a Mild Conspiracy Theory” post, it’s practically a must. The comments are just rolling in, go take a look!

  • The first thing you guys should do is introduce yourself with some nice photos. I know you’ve been working out @thedevotea, so you can strut your manliness complete with teacup without fear of being called a tea weed.
As to the other men, we shall see won’t we.

Thrilled to have our net friend @thedevotea‘s teas up for sale in the marketplace. Take a peek at his unique Aussie blends: http://t.co/5LLoJH9

  • Our good man @thedevotea tweeted out a link to this article on “tea potting.” Up until his update, I hadn’t heard a thing about this. Am I just behind the times? Pretty interesting. I can’t wait to see if this “craze” catches on. If you’re tempted, I practically insist on pics!Yours,J.

  • Bwhahaa! I love it!

This is exactly the kind of stuff that gets me excited about marketing. Nothing better than to imbue mythical qualities to a product (it’s even better when you make light of it too!)

Though I do think @jackie‘s Bckmph tea description has far more more powerful feel!!

    Nicely written @thedevotea 🙂

Just finished reading @thedevotea’s latest blog post. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Won’t say too much now because I’ll leave that for when I comment. Once I’ve been refueled with tea…
