peter started the topic Using Getty Images on your tea blog, and other stuff about stock images in the forum Tea Conversations 10 years, 8 months ago
Sometimes, finding cool images to add to your blog posts (Steepstories.com always does fun things with images) can be difficult. This week, Getty Images, which is pretty much the go to place for stock images on the internet for mass media and everything else, has said that now a majority of their images are available for free to embed on blogs and…[Read more]

@xavier – I don’t know, but the owner doesn’t talk about it in his interview there and that interview is 4 years old now. If Sbux was going to move on his idea, he would have made a deal with them by now.
I did find their website, http://mysmartcup.com/
From the looks of it, it appears that they are simply just working hard to get their…[Read more]

Here’s a video for this, an interview with the inventor. I think this is a good idea and could probably catch on nicely. I hope that he is pushing Starbucks on it. Getting them on board (as opposed to only using it in Teavana, which would be a good testing ground) would change the face of the loose tea industry.
This really is the type of…[Read more]

Here are the highlights from the blog post. It looks like the page is going to show the teas an unavailable until they come up for sale through Steepster themselves. I’m under the impression that they intend to warehouse all the teas in the database and sell them directly to their customers.

There is also a forum thread about it as well, but there is no indication the devs are monitoring the comments in the thread. http://steepster.com/discuss/6947-the-new-tea-page

Yeah, its a little disturbing also because they don’t give any information about why it isn’t available. Are they manually updating the database? It used to be that the buy now button would link to the tea at the vendor’s store (I was surprised that those links were never littered with affiliate links, would have been a great way to monetize…[Read more]

You meant this one?
The East India Company: Trade and Conquest from 1600
It looks interesting. The reviews tend to give it high marks for the photography throughout.

Yes, you can drop links into the update box. Currently, to add images you have use HTML. However, I intend to turn that service back on when I get a chance to style it up nicely. It has to be redesigned from scratch since we are on a totally new theme.

@bram Okay, floated the buttons back to the left. Changed the styles on theme to match the reply button here, also changed the action buttons in the forum to match these as well. I think it is a good solution. It […]

@bram – Can you PM me a screenshot of the layout issue you are seeing? On a monitor that wide, the sidebar should on the right. I might need to adjust some margins or something, but I need to see it.
The reply […]

1) Shifted the activity stream action buttons to the right. Did not change […]

@bram Are you viewing it on a phone? Currently, the headlines are displayed in the sidebar, which on a phone, or small mobile device, gets dropped down below the column of main content. On slightly larger screens […]

@iheartteas The only thing the marketplace did was aggregate the products from the sites on the network. Statistically, the marketplace itself wasn’t offering any major benefit to the sellers. There are no changes […]

Thanks to @thedevotea for letting me know about the outage. I accidentally introduced an error a few hours ago during some testing without realizing it. Was able to fix it in only a couple minutes, once I knew about it. Sorry to anyone who couldn’t access their website.
