In Star Wars, (the first one made that was really the fourth one, as opposed to the first one, which they made fourth) there’s bit when Darth Vader casually drops in the saucy fact that he is, in fact, Luke […]

At my “peak”, for want of a better word, I posted over 100 blog posts in one year. But lately that has tapered off a little.
I say ‘a little’, but this is my fourth post for 2019.
I know it’s been hard for […]

Totally adding “Overpopulated Scrotum” to my lexicon. And, quite frankly, if you had named the tea that oh, I can think of several people in the US that would have bought it just for name alone.

I would never have guessed it (and I tried to do so but only in my mind after reading your Facebook post).
And even if you didn’t mention me, I was drinking tea after tea wondering if you had stopped writing (okay, I would have drunk tea after tea even without that but it sounds better when I say it that way, doesn’t it?).

Robert Godden started the topic Disappearing Drafts in the forum Tea Conversations 5 years, 8 months ago
Lately I have been creating drafts for blog posts and then having them disappear.
I don’t know why, but it’s super annoying.
The pictures uploaded for the drafts are still in my media collection.
Anyone else had the same thing? I’ve put hours into the same posts twice now and it’s just not there. -

A visit to Pheonix Tea was on the cards again, but this time, not the wonderful Phoenix Tea of Burien, Washington State, USA, but Phoenix Tea of Hong Kong.
Google Maps suggested walking in a strange loop out of […]

As someone who doesn’t take milk in my tea normally, I’m nevertheless drawn to the various forms of milk tea as a moth is to flame.
So, just to recap the last 300 blog posts, I’ve drunk thousands of cups of tea […]

If you are a regular reader, or a casual reader, or you’ve read .001% of my stuff, you’ll know that I’m a tad anti-teab*g.
Well, perhaps more than a tad, given that I have previously advocated setting fire to […]

Taste is a very individual thing, and it amazes me that people try to regulate it, or define it, or pretend it doesn’t matter.
Here’s an example: Vegemite.
If you are Australian. you’ll know that Vegemite is […] -

I started as a video reviewer, and have many times reviewed teas on this blog, so messages like this aren’t unusual, I get them all the time:
steven zhou:
hello
Do you like the best green tea in China – […] -

A small quantity of our Lord Petersham tea is leaving these shores today, heading for the US of A.
To be specific, Petersham, Massachusetts.
For the simple reason that the town, or at the least the Trustees […]

We’ve been doing some thinking lately, about our reason for existing.
I mean, originally The Devotea was a YouTube tea review channel. Then an online store, then a market store as well, then no markets but […]

I have been having trouble hearing in one ear lately. There is a metallic buzz in my right ear that makes people in real life and on TV sound like Cybermen from Doctor Who. And if you’re a Doctor Who fan, you’ll […]

Thank you for your kind comments, Karla. The “Boston tea Party” (it wasn’t named that until decades after the event) didn’t significantly reduce American tea consumption for over 100 years, so no-one that was […]

It’s fair to say that when we are out and about, we do not always love the tea menu.
If one is at a specialised tea house, then there’s likely a fair chance. Even if it’s a specialised, specialised tea house, […]

It’s been three months since I last wrote a tea blog post, which is about three times slacker than my longest previous gap. Over seven years and many words – this will be my 395th blog post on this site (after […]

Today is Lady Devotea’s birthday, so there is no better time to talk about the tea issue that sometimes divides us: milk.
I tend not to take milk and she tends to.
Of course, I’m not adverse to a sweet, […]
