I haven’t been to Rize, but have traveled to Turkey.
All the places that I traveled to seemed pretty safe, and I drank a lot of Turkish black tea : )
Turkey is very advanced and has a strong economy. Another story would be traveling to Morocco or the like.

Wow, that would make me think twice about going to a tea ceremony in Shanghai. I’d probably decline now. Not being able to speak or read the language would make fighting this scam extremely hard. Thanks for sharing @riccaicedo. I read both articles, just had the Spanish one translated.

I can’t imagine why someone would add sugar to green tea (unless it’s a green tea latte). It mustn’t taste good on its own.
