Am considering hosting a Google Hangout to talk about Tea Trade, give live support to help folks out with their blogs and stores, or provide lessons on how to use the software and to generally just chat.

    Any thoughts on this?

    • Google Hangout? A kind of regular online meeting?

      • Maybe weekly, or monthly. There are already two weekly hangouts that some Tea Trade members spend time in (on Sunday and on Thursday), but there isn’t one for Tea Trade itself. I’m thinking it might be a good place to talk about websites, I can implement fixes, alterations and adjustments live during the hangout, and we can talk about business, Tea Trade, and answer questions about it as well. Ideally it should be a public hangout where I can answer pre-signup questions too.

I’m just trying to get a feel for things to see if folks are interested. Right now I’m thinking about having it on Sundays, an hour before the Tea Geek hangout.

        • Would love some more feedback please. I’d @mention people, but then where would I start, and where would I finish?

        • Business 😀
It would have to wait for me coming back from holidays and buying a microphone to be able to speak to you.

    • I enjoy the Tea Geek one, and of course, there’s the Thursday one that I don’t attend but is all about me. And then there’s the AustralAustralia Speciality Tea Association one. I get invited to about 6 more but choose not to participate.
However, I’d probably be a semi-regular at a Tea Trade one

    • Possibly. My tea card is getting pretty full these days. If it could be on the Sunday or Thursday (which are quickly turning into my tea days) that would be great! 🙂

    • This is all amazingly good feedback.

One of the thoughts I had was to run it for about two-three hours on Sunday night starting at around 6 or 7pm Eastern. By run it, I mean, I’ll be in the hangout and available to anyone who wants to stop by. Jackie manages our social stuff so I would just have her invite folks from the existing Circle in G+. By having it for at least two hours, people can come and go as needed to ask questions and get help.

I’m thinking that by hosting it for 2 hours, it gives enough time for folks to get in and ask what they like. I’m also thinking of having an agenda for at least the first 30 minutes of it to give a lesson on Tea Trade and WordPress, how it all works together and how you all can use it (for this, I think I would need general ideas about what you want to know).

I do know that one of the things I want to do is that I can alter, fix and tuneup little things on blogs and stores live right there during the hangout. You simply tell me what you want, and I’ll tell you if its possible and then if I can get it done in a few minutes while @jackie entertains you with cheerful banter, I will do it, and you can see the changes live, right away.

Anyhow, lots to think about and plan for.

      • Please don’t rearrange this on my account.

I was just reading this thread and want to contribute. It’s the middle of the night here during the time you’ve mentioned, but I suppose I might sometimes be able to take part.

Keep me informed about what’s decided, ok?
