Thought provoking blog post by @adamyusko where he discusses two “camps” of tea drinkers. Do you agree? What side do you fall on? Are you a perspective 1, or a 2, or a hybrid?http://www.thesiptip.com/2011/06/two-tea-perspectives.html

I now have a lot of good teas in the house. Including some first flush waiting to be sipped. But this morning, feeling incredibly tired I’m having my “comfort” tea – Ceylon based Vanilla.

The first thing you guys should do is introduce yourself with some nice photos. I know you’ve been working out @thedevotea, so you can strut your manliness complete with teacup without fear of being called a tea weed.
As to the other men, we shall see won’t we. -

jackie started a new topic ”Grandpa” style brewing in ”A Tea Addict’s Journal” in the forum Notable Article LInks: 13 years, 4 months ago
MarshalN – aka @TeaFanatic writes a very interesting blog “A Tea Addict’s Journal”, and this is one of the many articles of note. What particularly intrigues me about this post, is that it challenges some notions of how tea “must” be brewed. http://www.marshaln.com/whats-grandpa-style/In addition, he’s currently chronicling his tea adventures in…[Read more]

jackie started a new topic Japanese black teas…? in the forum General Discussion: 13 years, 4 months ago
We are having a lively discussion on Japanese machine picked teas on the forum, which prompted me to think about black teas in Japan. By far most Japanese teas for sale are green teas, why are there so few black teas? Has anyone ever tasted some, or knows something more about black teas of that country, and […]

I know you weren’t talking about my post ha ha, I said “sirwilliamoftheleaf”!But I hadn’t seen @familyandtea‘s post. I have no idea why.@familyandtea were you going to post another “Cadillac” pic? I’d like to know more about the differences you allude to. If I blind-tested you would you really be able to tell?

No, I don’t @sirwilliamoftheleaf is disagreeing with himself. He pointed out that Japan produces some very high quality machine picked tea, but that hand picked tea still exists, although it’s rare, and only a few kilos are produced each year. Actually Sir W. didn’t pass any judgment on artisan teas, which leads me to ask if anyone […]

So, do applicants need to provide proof of gender? And how will you go about determining this? Can’t wait to hear what kind of tests you might put in place.

Here’s a pic and a video. The vid shows a more low tech machine, which is certainly less costly for the small farmer.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjJ0ysSuIoU&feature=related

From what I’ve seen machine picked tea is the norm in Japan. When I first looked into harvesting methods there, I was surprised. It contradicted the somewhat romanticized image I had of tea pickers in traditional Japanese dress plucking away carefully by hand. Ever seen any such pics? I had. Now I’m curious whether you as […]

The thing is, your blog is great – you don’t need ATB approval. What matters is whether you enjoy writing and others enjoy reading. In your case it’s a clear yes on both counts. It’s good that ATB has standards, they are necessary if the seal is supposed to have meaning. The ATB started with […]
