Zwarte pieten are the helpers of Sinterklaas. They do the dirty work of going through the chimney (black) and deliver presents into the shoes.

@xavier I agree that @thedevotea would make a splendid Zwarte Piet. But then again he would throw tea instead of pepernoten.

Sinterklaas-evening brings out the poet in everyone. 🙂

@xavier we all are partial to tea. But that does not matter as long as we are still right. Pics and poem are nice.

It all comes down to balance. Flavoring/scenting is easily and usually overdone. But if you find that rare balanced flavoured/scented tea the method by which it was modified no longer matters.
