So mostly political pressure this time? But what about next year or the year after? Do you think there is some light in the future or does this go on until something breaks, with all consequences? Or do you think […]

🙁 Sometimes you are reminded that there are people out there with behaviour that you wished did not exist.
But most times (I hope) you are reminded that there are people out there with behaviour that luckily exists.

At least you are not forced to use a tea maker that requires an internet connection… 😉

The pots is not what he is known for and will go mostly unnoticed in the western world. All I could find was about him being a famous auctioneer and the tv shows he did.

Something I heard today 9thrird or fourth hand). Recently a famous dutch auctioneer died. (I did not know him but I am no auction visitor). I was told that he had about 8000 Yixing teapots…
I wonder what is going to happen to them…
-
That was a pretty interesting update Bram, thanks. I tried to find more info online but didn’t come across anything. You’d think 8000 Yixing pots would warrant a nice news article somewhere…

$5000,- + ticket is a bit above available money for this season or the next. But I hope to be able to come back on your offer in a couple of years.

I had once posted a comment on that site that took a while to get through. So it might still hang in there.

Just discovered by chance a new Chinese tea house. Just at the border of convenience to go there and drink there during lunch break. Not a very wide range of teas, mostly with flowers, but a few nice ones without. And the fourth mortar and brick place in the Netherlands that sell pu erh cakes (that I know of). Which brings the total number of…[Read more]

We have come a far way from the virgin female tea pickers with the clean nails and their strict diet. I don’t think they were allowed to go to mcdonalds before picking.

I think flavoured is easier for most people. Orthodox taste is often subtle and not always easy to explain. Rose tea is just tea that taste like rose.
That and the fact that the tea can be cheaper and still […]

I had the same feeling. I don’t know how it was in the past, except for the Ostfrisian and Hamburg area, which have always been different from the rest of Germany when it comes to tea. As far as I know tea was not that hot in the rest of the country, but it existed. So I wondered whether the author’s skill to find teashops improved or that it…[Read more]
