Something I heard today 9thrird or fourth hand). Recently a famous dutch auctioneer died. (I did not know him but I am no auction visitor). I was told that he had about 8000 Yixing teapots…
I wonder what is going to happen to them…

That was a pretty interesting update Bram, thanks. I tried to find more info online but didn’t come across anything. You’d think 8000 Yixing pots would warrant a nice news article somewhere…
The pots is not what he is known for and will go mostly unnoticed in the western world. All I could find was about him being a famous auctioneer and the tv shows he did.
So many? I am sure he never used them.
1/day => 24 years. So…
But I do agree that he is a collector and might have used only a few of them.
And I have it from hearsay, so it might be “only” 800…
