@riccaicedo takes an active part here on Tea Trade, so even though he’s not a Tea Trade blogger, he’s very much part of the community. Check out his latest post about Emperor Saga – the first Japanese emperor to drink tea, it’s interesting:

We can’t be sure if he was really the first one to drink it, but he was an admirer of Chinese culture and showed great support for tea.[/bpfb_link]

Thanks for the mention, @jackie. I’m happy to be part of the community, and I’m grateful to you and @peter for your efforts.

    • I read it. And given the name of the blog, I think that’s quite a big deal.

      • Perhaps you should explain @thedevotea that you’re not what could be described as “an ardent admirer of Japanese teas.” So, rest assured @riccaicedo that he must like you to go read it 😛

        • “not an ardent admirer”?, @jackie ? Au contraire? The entire country has managed to turn out a staggering variety of teas that I have assiduously tasted, and found they range from quite horrible to very horrible*. They also invented the idea of throwing things in tea that taste even worse than the tea itself in an effort to improve it. I admire their determination to completely avoid any tea that I might actually enjoy.

*The one exception was an ice cold sencha served on a hot day in Thailand and mixed about 50/50 with sugar syrup.
