We are a small tea grower from Wayanad, Kerala, India managing 4 small estates producing fresh tea leaves.
I wish to gather some vital information from our Tea Trade Members regarding the following:
1. What should be the average production per plant per year from a well maintained tea garden if the plant and 25 years old and pruned 2 years ago.
2. What are the ways to increase the productivity if the average production is low
3. Since fresh tea leaves are perishable we often don’t get the real price for the effort we put in and we can’t hold it without processing. Hence we wish to explore the possibilities of processing tea leaves in our own estate. Will appreciate your valuable inputs related to low cost in-house processing techniques.
